ベトナム戦争当時。
西海岸で若者たちはサーフィンに明け暮れ、青春を享受していた。
レスリー・チャンの青春モノに飽きていて、「あー、これも青春賛歌かよ・・・」と思っていたら、ベトナム戦争もの、と見せかけてやっぱり青春ものだった。いわゆる、青春の終わりものね。
で？
で終わってしまった。
ベトナム戦争の頃のアメリカに漂う厭世で刹那的な気分を切り取った、ということか。
